Περίληψη: A spectrophotometric method for the determination of Cu(II) ions in various objects was developed using the newly synthesized organic reagent, monosodium salt of 4-amino-5-hydroxy-6-(pyridin-2-ylazo)-3-sulfonaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid monosodium salt (HR). The optimal conditions were selected as follows: λmax=600 nm, pH=2.34, universal buffer solution, HR concentration of 0.05% and volume V=1.2 ml, with TCu2+=5.0 μg/ml. The concentration range obeying the Beer law was 1.0-6.0 μg/25 ml. The Sandell sensitivity (S) was 0.00445 μg/cm², while the contrast was Δλ=100 nm. The composition of the complex was studied using the equilibrium-shifting, isomolar series, and Asmus methods, and the molar ratio was found to be 1:2. In this case, one proton is released from the reagent molecule, and a chelate cycle is formed mainly through the atoms of the oxygen-OH group, the nitrogen of the pyridine ring and the N=N group. The molar absorptivity coefficient (εtrue=14286) was determined. The equilibrium constant (Keq=1.13·104) and stability constant (β=2.59·1016, lgβ=16.41) were calculated. The lower limit of determination was (Qmin=0.226 μg/25ml). The complex formation process of Cu(II) ions with the HR reagent was additionally confirmed based on FTIR and Raman spectroscopy data. The effect of interfering ions was studied, and the developed method was applied to artificial mixtures, industrial alloys, natural water, and wastewater samples, and evaluation of the obtained results showed that the relative standard deviation (Sr) did not exceed 0.035, indicating the accuracy and repeatability of the method.
