Περίληψη: A constitutive model coupling martensitic transformation and plastic deformation was implemented as a UMAT in ABAQUS to simulate spherical indentation of NiTi shape memory alloys. Four material states—superelastic (SE), superelastic with plasticity (SE-P), shape memory effect (SME), and SME with plasticity (SME-P)—were compared under identical elastic modulus, transformation stress, and strain conditions. Plasticity reduces depth recovery, increases hysteresis energy dissipation, and shrinks the effective transformation zone. In SE/SE-P, unloading begins elastically and subsequent inflection points are governed by reverse transformation. In SME/SME-P, reverse transformation does not occur during unloading; heating enables additional recovery, while residual indentation remains with plastic deformation. The model also reproduces the experimentally observed decrease in reverse-transformation stress with increasing tensile pre-strain. It provides a continuum-averaged description of indentation recovery, while grain-scale heterogeneity, dislocation structures, surface oxide, and roughness require further investigation.
