Περίληψη: Drunk driving is a leading factor in accidents involving vehicles worldwide, often involving drivers with excessive blood alcohol content. To address this issue, the authors propose a smart alcohol detector system that uses an Arduino board along with a GPS as well as GSM module for communicating the location. The system automatically detects alcohol in a person's breath and uses a motor to simulate a vehicle. If the alcohol content exceeds permissible limits, the system stops the motor and sends an SMS message to a designated person. Our system consists of an Arduino Uno board, an MQ-3 alcohol sensor for detection, and a GSM/GPS module for notification. When a sober driver uses the system, the car operates normally, as indicated by the motor rotating. However, if the driver's drinking level is above what is allowed, the alcohol sensor detects it, and the Arduino controller stops the motor to prevent drunk driving. In order to help, the system simultaneously sends an SMS message with the position of the car to the police or a family member. An LCD display is also part of the project for parameter monitoring.
