Περίληψη: AbstractCopper ion (Cu2+) is an essential trace metal in living systems, yet its abnormal accumulation may lead to environmental and biological risks. In this work, a new near-infrared fluorescent probe, DCPCl2-Cu, was designed and synthesized for the selective determination of Cu2+. The probe was constructed by combining a halogen-substituted dicyanoisophorone fluorophore with a 2-picolinate responsive unit. In the presence of Cu2+, the probe underwent a Cu2+-triggered deprotection reaction, which restored the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) process and produced a significant fluorescence enhancement in the near-infrared region. Under optimized conditions, DCPCl2-Cu showed high sensitivity and good selectivity toward Cu2+, with a detection limit of 26 nM and a linear response range of 0.1–18 μM. The probe was successfully applied to the determination of Cu2+ in tap water and lake water with satisfactory recoveries. In addition, it exhibited low cytotoxicity and enabled fluorescence imaging of exogenous Cu2+ in HepG2 cells. These results indicate that DCPCl2-Cu is a promising tool for Cu2+ detection in environmental and biological systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
