| Περίληψη: | Vibration recordings and analysis have become a promising, easy‐to‐use tool in the fault diagnosis of a variety of industrial and manufacturing machinery. This is due to the availability of algorithms implemented in software that can track hidden abnormalities that can lead to expensive failures if not solved in due time. A wide range of smartphone holders exists, from those that just position a device on the fixed table to the ones mounting it on a motorcycle or bike. All of these include or use simple or complex dampener systems to protect the phone and to ensure a clear, non‐moving view for the user. However, for the use of the device for capturing the 3D axis vibrations available on its accelerometer sensors and recordable with a high rate of sampling using Matlab mobile software, we designed non‐dampener holders with multiple choice mounting to the tested machinery to perform a better record. Results of testing the vibrations and their machine learning analysis for both classical holders and proposed holders were shown and concluded to result in increased amplitude of the recorded acceleration signal between 1.8 and 2.2, mainly due to the avoidance of well‐dampener systems and well fixation solution in all positions.
