This paper investigates the evaluation of parameters of an acousto-optical channel for the leakage of speech information in the infrared (IR) range. A mathematical and MATLAB-based model has been developed to estimate the power received by a photodiode and the maximum possible interception distance depending on key system parameters, including transmitter power, receiver sensitivity threshold, angle of incidence on the glass surface, transmitter directivity, and the efficiencies of both transmitter and receiver. The model accounts for geometric features of the channel formation, optical signal divergence, energy losses due to reflection from the glass, as well as amplitude-phase modulation of the signal caused by glass vibrations induced by the speech signal. For practical analysis, an interactive MATLAB GUI model has been implemented, allowing visualization of the dependencies of photodiode signal power and maximum interception distance on the system’s key parameters. The results provide a quantitative assessment of the effectiveness of acousto-optical information leakage channels, which is an important step in designing effective technical information security systems. The model demonstrates that the reliable interception distance depends on the propagation conditions of the IR radiation, characteristics of the optical and electronic components, and the state of the glass surface, highlighting the necessity of considering these factors when designing protective measures.
