Abstract: In this paper, a wideband and biocompatible implantable antenna is designed for modern healthcare systems, operating within the 2.4-2.48 GHz (ISM-Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) frequency band. The proposed CPW-fed implantable antenna has a compact size of 6 × 6 × 0.635 mm3. A high dielectric material, Rogers RO Duroid 3010, is used as a substrate material, while a biocompatible material, ceramic alumina (Al2O3), is utilized as a superstrate for the proposed antenna. Miniaturization and ultra-wide bandwidth are achieved by incorporating the slotting technique in the radiating patch of the antenna. The proposed antenna has been simulated inside the heart and stomach tissue models and validated using Laura's human voxel model. The highest bandwidth of 45.49 % and gain of -18.81 dBi is achieved in the desired ISM band. Moreover, the specific absorption rate (SAR) was also simulated inside both tissues.
