Abstract: The heavy dependence on non-renewable energy sources for Earth's current state is worrisome. Fuel cells present a viable way forward for addressing the issues of energy sustainability by offering cleaner energy choices that satisfy sustainability requirements. This technology has diverse applications, including Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs), military uses, as primary or secondary power sources in remote areas, and for powering various equipment. For modeling and simulating PEMFC methodology for use in renewable energy applications, this research investigates the usage of MATLAB. The simulation findings show that the magnitude of the fundamental system's component is small. For optimal performance, the proposed fuel cell system should be integrated into renewable energy applications. The system's performance is evaluated based on fundamental components and total harmonic distortion, with the results validated in a MATLAB/Simulink environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
